Who can set up a family

An adult sets up the family and is responsible for it. Child profiles are created by that adult inside the family; children do not register themselves and do not need an email address. The adult who set up the family is responsible for the profiles they create and for anything posted from them.

Your content stays yours

Photos, messages, lists, and everything else your family adds belong to you. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service — storing your content and displaying it back to your own family's TV and phones. We do not use it for anything else.

Acceptable use

• Don't upload content you don't have the right to share.
• Don't use the service to harass anyone or to break the law.
• Don't attempt to access another family's data, probe the service for vulnerabilities without permission, or interfere with its operation for others.

We may suspend access to a family that is using the service in a way that harms other people or the service itself.

PINs

Profile PINs are the only thing standing between a phone and a profile's permissions. Choose PINs that aren't guessable, and don't give a child's device a parent PIN unless you intend for them to have parent-level control.

Connected services

If you connect Google Calendar or Google Photos, your use of those services stays governed by Google's own terms. We read only what is needed to display them on your TV, and you can disconnect at any time.

Availability

Smart Family is provided as-is. We work to keep it running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may change or discontinue features. Keep your own copies of photos you care about — the service is a way to display them, not a backup.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, including lost data or a missed reminder. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Medication reminders and similar features are conveniences, not medical devices. Don't rely on them as the only safeguard for anything that matters to someone's health.

Ending it

You can delete your family from the dashboard at any time, which removes its members, content, and uploaded photos.

Changes

If these terms change materially, we will update the date at the top of this page.
